Notes from the farm: A sunny autumnal photoshoot with Helen England
How on earth are we knee-deep in Autumn already? Autumn is, without doubt, my absolute favourite time of the year. The light and colours on the farm are absolutely stunning and the acres of woodland which surround our studio take on an almost ethereal, dream-like quality. Just gorgeous.
The perfect time, then, to head out into the woods for a family photoshoot with our friend Helen England. Helen has been a client of ours for almost eleven years now, and photographed mine and Dan’s wedding five years ago. Since then, both our families have grown; we’ve welcomed Evie, and she’s welcomed her beautiful little girl Nellie, who was born earlier this year.
Helen took Dan, Evie and I out into the woods for a little family photoshoot which was a really lovely opportunity to capture some photos of us as a three (I can’t be the only one who has plenty of photos of Evie with daddy, but none of all of us together?). I hope you’ll indulge me sharing them; they so perfectly capture the wild spirit of our little girl and her absolute love of running full-pelt through the sheep fields.
If you’re considering getting some photographs of your family, I really rate Helen, and not just because she’s our friend - she has a knack of both being invisible yet bringing an energy that draws out the best of adults and small people alike. She pranced around the woods like a little paparazzi pixie while the three of us goofed about - it was so much fun! You can find out more about Helen’s family shoots here.
