Proud to Present: a delicate, nature inspired brand for Alice Stewart Jewellery
Alice Stewart is an extraordinarily talented jeweller and designer, who designs and makes exqusite jewellery from her countryside studio in Stratford Upon Avon.
Nature inspired pieces form the cornerstone of Alice's signature style, honouring the tiniest details found in the natural world, faithfully recreating the subtle texture and detail of leaves, twigs and buds. With every piece designed and hand crafted personally by Alice, she offers an exclusive collection of incredible pieces that simply can't be found elsewhere.
Having just finished designing a striking new range of wedding and engagement rings, it was high time to step Alice's brand up a gear and create something with a more artistic, aspirational feel that better reflects the quality, beauty and understated grace and elegance of her work. From a commercial perspective, the wedding and engagement rings represent a higher price point than the business has previously been known for, and it was important to echo that higher end feel through the new brand.
We needed to create a brand which set the expectation for a brand that’s all about incredible quality and fine craftsmanship. A brand that hints at the romanticism and timelessness of nature, that’s refined and aspirational, and makes people excited to wear their own little piece of treasure.
Colour Psychology Season Personality
Alice Stewart's brand personality is best reflected by the Summer and Autumn personalities, with Summer as the dominating influence. Summer brands are quiet, gentle and refined. Turned off by anything flashy or vulgar, they prefer the delicate and lightness of timelessly beautiful items. Summer personalities are artistically gifted and have an inherent respect for quality. They’re calm, measured and have a sense of romance and gentle whimsy to what they do.
Meanwhile, Autumn personalities are innately drawn to the richness and abundance of the natural world. Happiest outside, they’re more rural than urban spirits. They’re imaginative and creative characters with a sense of nostalgia. Anything passed through generations fascinates them. They’re motivated by behaving in an ethical and environmentally responsible way, and their campaigning nature means they won’t compromise on their principles.
Whilst Autumn best reflects Alice's strong connection with nature, the influence of Summer creates a brand which is delicate, graceful, romantic and high end.
The brand
Soft, delicate and muted, natural textures meet organic shapes and harmonising tones for a mood which is quiet, unhurried and aspirational, capturing that sense of intentionally undone rustic luxe. With no one element shouting for attention, it has a sense of lightness and elegance, with an abundance of natural texture.
Typography styles include traditional serifs that provide a sense of enduring strength for a nostalgic, heirloom worthy nod, elegant hand lettered scripts for a romantic and elegant feel. Together, they create a sense of something established and high quality, but with enough organic flair to be right for this brand.
I'm so, so proud of what we've created for Alice. Her jewellery looks so at home against the backdrop of her new brand - and really, that's the ultimate test, isn't it?
