Proud to Present: A serene brand for Studio Scribe
Lynsey approached us early on during lockdown, with a desire to shake up her small business and kick things up a gear. Having launched her business a few short years ago, it had grown successfully and had totally outgrown its original DIY identity. Lynsey also felt a real disconnect with the business name, and briefed us with the task to create a fresh brand name that fitted the personality of her business. Originally named Elmo & Alfie, we arrived at the much more elegant and refined ‘Studio Scribe’ - a name which hints at creativity and the magic of the written word.
Here’s the story of Studio Scribe…
Since 2016, Studio Scribe has designed and produced an ever-expanding array of paper goods, all crafted in the UK. Borne from genuine need, as all the best brands are, Studio Scribe started life as a modest side project and has grown organically as demand steadily increased.
Frustrated by a lack of planners that enabled Lynsey to organise her schedule in the way she wanted to, she began creating her own calendars and planners to give herself the flexibility she craved. And although the designs in the early days were rudimentary, customers loved the ease of use and word of this fledgling brand spread. The product range swelled in response to what customers asked for, soon including notes pages, calendars, expense trackers, meal planners, notebooks and diaries amongst others.
The beauty of Studio Scribe is not just the product, but what the product means for those who buy them. In this digital world, there’s nothing quite like putting pen to paper; a magic found in the process of extracting ideas, tasks and jumbled thoughts from the swirling busyness of our minds and laying them calmly down on paper – shifting mental to-do lists to physical ones and buying ourselves back some room to think as a result. Studio Scribe helps people find order, making it beautifully easy to get organised with simple and stylish planners that can be personalised for their own purpose.
The mood of this brand was calm, unhurried and elegant, featuring subtle nods to the botanical details that Lynsey draws so much inspiration from. Serene, gentle and minimal, the visual style is one of subtle simplicity.
